“Elect Phillip Price to Congress” — Letter to the Editor

In the August 9th, 2018 edition of the Asheville Citizen Times, Chris Walters of Hendersonville, NC wrote,

“…That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men.” That’s from the Declaration of Independence. What it means is that one function of government is to protect our rights. Without government we either have anarchy, or rule by oligarchy or dictatorship.

Without a viable justice system, constitutional “rule by law” becomes rule by the banks and corporations. Without a viable justice system and separation of powers “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” is just a dream.

Radicals like Mark Meadows are not constitutionalists, they’re anti-government nihilists. When they undermine the justice system by putting the president above the law, they undermine the ability to protect our rights. They’re for the oligarchy.

I have to laugh when I hear Mark Meadows’ supporters call themselves tea partiers. He’s not a patriot. He doesn’t support the “We the people…” He supports the big banks, the corporations, and the predator insurance companies.

He might have gone to Washington to drain the swamp. But he was too weak. He didn’t drain the swamp. He turned the swamp into a sewer. Elect Phillip Price to replace Mark Meadows in the 11th Congressional District.
